The pressure relief valve, sometimes called PRV, relief valve or safety valve, is used to manage the pressure in a system. It is set to open if the pressure within the system rises past a certain point to prevent the system from being damaged . Each PRV has an internal "bar" limit set, when the pressure within the system exceeds the bar the prv opens to allow water to escape which reduces the amount of pressure within the system .
