The insulation is commonly used in the combustion chamber and is designed to reduce the amount of heat escaping through the side of the combustion chamber, this increases the boilers efficiency. Insulation should be carefully handled as it can be easily damaged and any damage to the insulation will allow heat to escape, the escaping heat might cause damage to other parts of the boilers which are sensitive to heat such as the PCB .
